Rooibos (Aspalathus linearis), meaning "red bush" in Afrikaans, is a broom-like plant native to the Cederberg Mountains of South Africa. The leaves and stems are harvested, cut, and then typically fermented (which gives it its characteristic reddish-brown color and sweet, earthy flavor) or sometimes sold unfermented as "green rooibos." Both forms are caffeine-free and popular worldwide.

To prepare as a tea:
- 1-2 teaspoons of dried, cut peppermint leaves (adjust to your preferred strength)
- 8 ounces (1 cup) hot water
- Optional: Milk/creamer, honey, sugar, lemon slice, cinnamon stick.
