
Botanical Name: Lavandula angustifolia
Lavender flower, primarily from the species Lavandula angustifolia (also known as English Lavender or True Lavender), is highly prized for its beautiful fragrance and calming properties. When the flowers are harvested and cut, they are used in a variety of ways, most notably for aromatic applications and for brewing a soothing herbal tea.
Lavender is known more for it's relaxation and stress relief and is an excellent sleep aid which is excellent as a popular natural remedy for insomnia and improving sleep quality.
To prepare as a tea:
- 1 teaspoon dried cut lavender flowers
- 8 ounces (1 cup) hot water
- Optional: Honey, lemon, or other sweeteners to taste
